Once a year, the fields open wide. It’s a day we look forward to as much as any on the farm - when the dahlias are yours to gather in their extraordinary abundance.

You arrive as autumn is settling in. The light lies low across the rows, shadows lengthen, and the air carries that first edge of cool. A bucket waits in your hands, shears at the ready. Ahead, the flowers stretch on, their colors shifting with every few steps—soft creams, fiery corals, deep wine tones, and countless shades in between.

For ninety extraordinary minutes, you walk and cut at your own pace. A bloom that glows in the slant of sun, another so unruly you can’t resist it. Tiny pompons, massive dinner plates, the unexpected and the perfect. The bucket fills quickly, more rapidly than you’d think. Soon it grows heavy, flowers rising high and spilling over the rim. Petals brush your arms as you move, and by the time you’re finished, the sheer abundance is astonishing. Most guests are surprised by how much they carry away—an overflowing harvest shaped entirely by their own choosing.

After the gathering, the farm invites you to linger. A half hour is yours to explore: renovated barns, old equipment that whispers of earlier seasons, a stream that slows the day to its own pace. Sit for a while. Notice the quiet. These are the moments that turn an afternoon into something you’ll remember long after the flowers have faded.

Event Details

• For two people: One 5-gallon bucket and a pair of shears provided for your harvest.

• Ages: 12 and older; minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

• Footwear: Boots or sturdy shoes are essential; fields are uneven and not suited to wheelchairs or strollers.

• Pets: We love them, but they’ll need to sit this one out.

• Timeliness: Your reservation is for a set time slot; late arrivals will end at the scheduled time.
