Peony Workshops

June ushers in the high season of peonies, those impossibly lush blooms that arrive for a few short weeks and then are gone. Bear Creek Farm invited flower lovers into a Full Day Peony Workshop built around that brief abundance.

The day began in the fields, where founder Debra Kaye leads a close, unhurried walk through the peonies at their peak — how they're grown, what they ask of the grower, and what makes this flower so particular. After a lingering lunch outdoors, ceramicist and devoted peony grower Christopher Spitzmiller leads the afternoon's arranging session, bringing his own deep love of the flower to every bloom in hand.
