Fall Farm Tour and Dahlia Workshops

Immerse yourself in the radiant world of dahlias at Bear Creek Farm with our Full Day Dahlia Workshop. Set amidst our nurturing fields, this workshop is a celebration of beauty and creativity, where you can explore the intricate world of dahlias—the hallmark of our farm's heritage. Spend a day surrounded by the splendor of our private gardens, which are not typically open to the public.

What Is Featured?

The day begins in the fields with Bear Creek Farm's founder, Debra Kaye. It's less a tour than a conversation: how a dahlia grows from first shoot to full bloom, how to spot a great flower while it's still in the ground, when to fertilize, how to harvest, and how those choices shape the way a bloom opens and how long it lasts.

Lunch follows outside, among people who also can't stop talking about flowers.

The afternoon belongs to Christopher Spitzmiller, the ceramicist whose work has found its way into the White House and Architectural Digest, and who grows his own flowers at Clove Brook Farm. He'll share his philosophy of arranging, which means letting a flower be what it already is. Then he'll work beside you as you build your own dahlia arrangement. At the end, photograph it against a backdrop set up on the farm.

Participation is strictly limited so the entire experience is personal and intimate.
